Raw Cacao Strawberry Tart

We asked raw food practitioner Patricia Klammers of Green & Fiesta to share some of her favorite raw food recipes. “This raw cacao and strawberry tart makes for a great treat for any chocolate lover,” she says. “It’s very easy to make, is incredibly delicious, nutritious, and totally guilt-free!” We’ve tried this dessert at Patricia’s hands and it’s a guaranteed hit – even (or especially!) among those newly initiated into the world of raw food.

Raw Cacao Strawberry Tart


  • 1 cup of nuts of your choice (I’m using walnuts for this recipe )
  • 1 cup of pitted dates
  • 1/4 cup of raw cacao powder
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of Himalayan salt
  • 200 grams of dark chocolate bar
  • 1/3 cup vegetal milk of your choice (I used homemade almond milk )
  • Fresh strawberries (for decorating)


  1. Add nuts, dates, cacao powder, sea salt, and vanilla to your food processor and blend until mixture is clumped together.
  2. Transfer mixture to a ring or cake mold (grease with coconut oil) and press down into the bottom. Set aside.
  3. Meanwhile, break up the chocolate bar and add it to small pot with the milk over medium heat. Allow the chocolate to melt until smooth.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the nut crust.
  5. Let it set in the freezer for 20-30 minutes.
  6. Add your sliced strawberries on top.
  7. Keep refrigerated.
