On our last trip to Bali, we visited the atelier of Gaya Ceramics – the pottery of choice for chic Balinese stays like Katamama and Bulgari – where hand-thrown ceramics are created using porcelain, stonewear, and raku clay. The light-filled, open-air community studio is home to local potters and artisans fully equipped with throwing wheels and a range of firing options that include the aforementioned raku, wood-fired anagama, and bottle kilns – the exploration of clay seems limitless in this part of Ubud.

Here, snapshots from our visit, already inspiring us on our next project that will likely involve some hand-thrown beauties like these!
